The Pregnancy Calorie Intake Calculator helps estimate how many calories a pregnant woman needs per day based on her age, height, weight, activity level, and pregnancy trimester. Pregnancy increases a woman's metabolic needs, but the increase depends on the stage of pregnancy.

This tool uses the Mifflin–St Jeor Equation to calculate Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), and then adds trimester-based recommended calorie increases:

  • 1st Trimester: No extra calories normally required
  • 2nd Trimester: +340 kcal/day
  • 3rd Trimester: +450 kcal/day

This calculator is useful for ensuring adequate nutrition for both mother and baby. However, medical supervision is essential during pregnancy, especially for women with diabetes, thyroid issues, anemia, or low/high BMI.
